MINIMAL MAKEUP

Today I thought I would share some of the products I reach for when it’s one of those days where I am going out to do some errands, and want to have a bit of make up on, but I’m lazy so I don’t want to put too much energy into my appearance. In an effort to not repeat myself, I’ve left out the mascara and brow product I use, because I’ve mentioned them on here before in previous posts, and I’m afraid I would sound like a broken record! I did a post like this around 2 years ago, so I thought it was high time I made an updated post.
Anyway, without stalling any further, the products I use are as listed..

1. I always like to start off my minimal make up look by using some sort of light moisturiser. Despite having combo skin, the area around my nose and cheeks can get quite dry, so I use the Priming Moisturiser by Glossier all over my face. I love this product because not only does it provide the perfect level of hydration for me, but it also contains a primer, which enables my base products to glide effortlessly over the skin.

2. Next, for my base product I will usually reach for my Cle Cosmetics Essence Air Cushion Foundation*. I was sent this about a month or so ago by the lovely people at Cle and I fell in love with it the instant I tried it out. Not only is the cushion style compact so incredibly convenient and easy to use, but the coverage is a build-able light to medium with a healthy and luminous finish. Depending on how hot it is outside, I will sometimes use a little translucent powder to knock back some of the glow on my T-zone.

3. The next thing I apply is a little of my Stretch Concealer by Glossier underneath my eyes. This concealer is very sheer and smooth, so it’s perfect for minimal make up days or when I want to let the freckles near my eyes show. I’ll then set this with a bit of translucent powder to prevent creasing, but honestly, if you don’t have as crinkly eyes as me, you probably wouldn’t need to do this step.

4. Finally I fill in my brows lightly, curl my lashes and apply mascara if I feel like it (sometimes I just curl them and go) and then I’ll swipe a bit of the Generation G stick by glossier in the shade Cake on my lips to give them a bit of colour and then I’m done!

I often wear this kind of make up in the Summer months because if I’m honest, it’s just too bloody humid to be wearing a full on face of make up all day. Like I said, sometimes I won’t wear mascara because I can’t be bothered and I’ll often go without blush if I’m doing such a minimal base, because the colour from my cheeks shows through anyway.

I’ve had a couple of questions about what make up I have on in pictures and irl, so I hope some of you found this useful.

I’d love to know if you’ve tried any of these products. If not, what are your minimal make up go to products? Let me know in the comments below.
